Anonymous Analytics Terms

1. Definition

“Anonymous and Aggregated Analytics Data” means statistical output prepared so that reasonable means cannot identify a natural person, account, specific company, customer, project, or source file.

Replacing a user_id with a random identifier is not sufficient anonymization by itself. Pseudonymized data that can be linked back to a user remains personal data where applicable law requires.

2. Possible technical features

• equipment types, machines, milling cutters, and cutting tools;
• materials, thicknesses, sections, and other technical characteristics;
• machining modes, speeds, feeds, tool life, and replacement frequency;
• errors, performance, and feature demand;
• statistical project parameters and other technical metrics.

3. Legal basis and opt-in

Technical features are extracted and used only with an applicable legal basis. Where consent is required, it is requested separately, voluntarily, and through an unchecked-by-default control.

Recommended separate opt-in: “Allow the use of anonymized technical parameters from my projects for industry analytics and research. Source projects and my identifying data are not shared with partners.” Publishing this text does not mean that the website already stores this consent.

4. Permitted uses

• analyzing and combining metrics from different users;
• statistical models, research, and benchmarks;
• analytics reports, dashboards, and an analytics API;
• aggregated datasets;
• developing, testing, and improving products.

5. Commercial provision

The Licensor may provide properly anonymized and aggregated analytics to third parties for free, for a fee, by subscription, through an API, or as reports, studies, or datasets.

Recipients may include manufacturers of machines, milling cutters, cutting tools, industrial equipment, and materials; software developers; equipment suppliers; industry research organizations; and other analytics partners. A free analytics product may later become paid for future periods or new products.

6. Protection of source projects

Without a separate basis or consent, partners do not receive source SketchUp, Tekla, CAD, or BIM files, full drawings, project names, customers, emails, names, account IDs, IP addresses, payment data, or user source documents.

7. Project rights and analytics revenue

Users retain rights in their source projects and files. Users do not automatically receive a revenue share from reports, datasets, APIs, dashboards, research, statistical models, or other products created from properly anonymized and aggregated analytics unless a separate agreement expressly says otherwise.

8. Re-identification risk control

Before analytics are provided, 1-LVL considers sample size, rare feature combinations, external-data matching, and available technology. If risk is unacceptable, data is further aggregated, removed, access-limited, or kept under personal-data safeguards.
